Welcome to Delving XBT, a forum for technical discussion of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network: protocol design, implementations, research and proposals.
What belongs here
- Protocol ideas and draft proposals (BIPs, BOLTs, bLIPs), posted early so they can be challenged early.
- Implementation work: design notes, code review, test results, interoperability.
- Research with data and methods others can reproduce.
What doesn’t
- Price talk, trading, promotion and personal attacks.
- Re-litigating a settled argument without new evidence.
How to post well
- Lead with the claim, then the evidence. Link sources, code and specs.
- Say plainly what is still open or uncertain.
- Disagree with ideas, not people.
Where we stand
Bitcoin is the chain that enforces BIP-110, the soft fork that limits arbitrary data in transactions so blockspace stays for money. A cartel of large mining pools, running Bitcoin Core, forked off rather than enforce it.
Delving XBT is for people who run nodes, hold their keys and build for users, not for grant-driven dev slop.
Independence
Delving XBT is run independently. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Delving Bitcoin, and posting here is not a substitute for proposing changes in the venues where the relevant software is maintained.
